OMONOIA ⸺ PANEPISTIMIO ⸺ SYNTAGMA
The Athens Digital Arts Festival, Greece’s international digital arts festival, returns from May 12 to 14 to the center of Athens to highlight aspects of an uncanny world. Under the title “Welcome to the Uncanny”, ADAF 2023 (Preview Edition) invites the public for three days to experience Athens from a different perspective through a route that expands from Omonoia to Syntagma: from the Brown Lighthouse Athens hotel in Omonoia, the ASTOR cinema in Korai Square to the Athninon Theater in Syntagma.
ADAF 2023 “Welcome to the Uncanny” explores how the uncanny manifests today: How is it related to new technologies, algorithms, and augmented reality? What is it that provokes this familiar yet disturbingly strange feeling? Can machines predict our every move, or do we still possess free will? How can we be sure of what is real and what is simulation?
ADAF 2023 invites you to an eerie experience where artificial intelligence has taken over the physical space and robots coexist alongside humans. Through a multi-prism program of installations, performances, and VR projects, as well as video art and animation screenings, you will be transported to a world beyond the ordinary.
At the same time, the Athens Digital Arts Festival reactivates its digital “exhibition space” at online.adaf.gr featuring works of web art, digital image, 360° videos and video games to enhance the experience of the uncanny.

Call for Volunteers

OMONOIA ⸺ ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ ⸺ ΣΥΝΤΑΓΜΑ
Το Athens Digital Arts Festival, το διεθνές φεστιβάλ ψηφιακών τεχνών της Ελλάδας, επιστρέφει από τις 12 έως τις 14 Μαΐου στο κέντρο της Αθήνας για να αναδείξει σημεία ενός ανοίκειου κόσμου. Υπό τον τίτλο «Welcome to the Uncanny», το ADAF 2023 (Preview Edition) προσκαλεί το κοινό για τρεις μέρες να εξερευνήσει την Αθήνα από διαφορετική οπτική μέσω μιας διαδρομής που εκτείνεται από την Ομόνοια έως το Σύνταγμα: από το ξενοδοχείο Brown Lighthouse Athens στην Ομόνοια, τον κινηματογράφο ΑΣΤΟΡ στην Πλατεία Κοραή έως το Θέατρο Αθηνών στο Σύνταγμα.
Tο ADAF 2023 «Welcome to the Uncanny» διερευνά πώς εκδηλώνεται σήμερα το ανοίκειο: Πώς σχετίζεται με τις νέες τεχνολογίες, τους αλγορίθμους και την επαυξημένη πραγματικότητα; Τι είναι αυτό που μας προκαλεί αυτό το οικείο και συγχρόνως ανησυχητικά παράξενο συναίσθημα; Μπορούν οι μηχανές να προβλέψουν κάθε μας κίνηση ή διαθέτουμε ακόμα ελεύθερη βούληση; Πώς μπορούμε να είμαστε σίγουροι για το τι είναι πραγματικό και τι προσομοίωση;
Το ADAF 2023 σε προσκαλεί σε μια απόκοσμη εμπειρία εκεί όπου η τεχνητή νοημοσύνη έχει καταλάβει τον φυσικό χώρο και τα ρομπότ συνυπάρχουν με τον άνθρωπο. Εγκαταστάσεις, έργα VR, προβολές video art και animation διαμορφώνουν ένα πολυπρισματικό πρόγραμμα που θα σε μεταφέρει σε έναν κόσμο πέραν του συνηθισμένου.
Παράλληλα, ενεργοποιείται για ακόμα μία χρονιά ο ψηφιακός «εκθεσιακός χώρος» του Athens Digital Arts Festival στο online.adaf.gr με έργα web art, digital image, 360° videos και video games, ενισχύοντας την εμπειρία του ανοίκειου.

Ανοικτό Κάλεσμα Εθελοντών
Γίνε μέλος της ομάδας του Athens Digital Arts Festival και πάρε μέρος στο preview edition του ADAF 2023 “Welcome to the Uncanny”. Εάν είσαι δημιουργικό άτομο άνω των 18 και θες να αναπτύξεις τις δεξιότητές σου, συμπλήρωσε εδώ τη φόρμα συμμετοχής έως τις 26 Απριλίου. Οι θέσεις εθελοντών για αυτή τη διοργάνωση είναι περιορισμένες.
Στο τέλος του φεστιβάλ όλοι οι εθελοντές θα λάβουν πιστοποιητικό συμμετοχής.
